Far Cry – a must play game

Appeared in a period full of shooter from the new generation, Far Cry, produced by a laboratory in Germany less known, comes and gives class to famous rivals, being probably the best shooter on the single player, having a good graphics engine, Crytek, which can offer landscapes from paradise.

In Far Cry you get into the role of Jack Carver, a man who was hired to sail with a mysterious woman in Pacific. Jack’s boat is flooded and stranded on a tropical island. Carver is investigating the surroundings to find the mysterious woman who had disappeared. He finds out that the island is full of mercenaries and he thinks how to save her and to return home somehow. Now you intervene in the story and start to make your way through enemy troops deeper into the heart of the island.

Far Cry has undoubtedly the most advanced graphics ever known on PC until 2004. Everything looks amazing, the likelihood is unique. Jungle consists of dense forests, tropical plants and tall grass, and full of insects and birds. The beaches has dazzling sand in the sunlight, and the ocean waves are a dream. Character models are the best, very detailed and well animated. The game also features real-time shadows and lighting rarely to be seen, and if you move through the jungle you can actually glimpse the shadow of the gun on the ground. In closed areas, enemies umbrellas can be projected onto walls, which is a very interesting and helpful effect.

During the battles in Far Cry, you will find smart opponents that know how to defend or hide. The jungle is so dense that sometimes you do not see enemies only when they are so close to you. Sound plays an important role in these moments because you can follow their steps, but they are able to follow you after sound. You can throw a stone to confuse them and then you can sneak making little noise. Sneaking plays an important role in the game.

You can also use a variety of vehicles, jeeps or boats, but integration of them in the game could have been done better, for example, if you choose the jeep you can only move on the roads because there are no open fields on the island, and if you choose the car there are more risks to be detected.

Far Cry is an amazing game in many respects. It is for sure a game that is worthy to be played – it is a must play.
